Grassmoor lagoons remediation is complete. 19th June 2015
Remediation works at Grassmoor Lagoons site have been completed! The last of the land forming works will be completed by the end of June ready for the final landscaping works which will be undertaken over the next 6 months. The palisade fence surrounding the site will remain in place for the next 1-2 years. Once the plants and trees are well established on site, the fence will be removed and the site will become part of the main Country park.
You will still be able to contact us on the phone and website until the end of 2015. If you wish to visit the site during the landscaping works, please contact us via the contact section of the website to make suitable arrangements.
Open Day. 18th December 2014
On the 14th October 2014 Grassmoor lagoons held an Open Day for visitors to see the remediation process first hand on site. Invites were extended to the local community from which we received a significant response. We also invited local businesses, Parish, District and County Council members/Officers and Industry Professionals from which also gave rise to a good attendance. Interest in the Open Day was also expressed at Parliament level. Attendees were given a site tour, presentation and explanation of how the works are carried out followed by a Questions and answer session. Remedx would like to thank all of those who attended and made the day a great success.

Remediation of the Grassmoor Lagoons site is nearing completion with all excavated contaminated material now situated on the treatment beds ready to be formed into windrows. The remediation process is now almost complete, allowing land forming and landscaping processes to begin in 2015.
Birmingham university site visit
On the 11th of November the Grassmoor Lagoons projected hosted a site visit by 31 Birmingham university MSC Hydro-geology students. The group were given a site tour and presentation on the works, again this was a great success.
Grassmoor Seminar Days
On the 1st and 8th of December 2014, RemedX hosted two Seminars about the Grassmoor Lagoons Project. The days were attended by professionals working in the contaminated land, energy, and development industries. Attendees came from as far away as France to see the site, the processes used to treat the soil, and were given a presentation about the project. Thank you to all that attended.

Tar lagoon excavation complete. 11th September 2014
The remediation programme for the Grassmoor lagoons has been progressing well during the summer months and the project hit a major milestone in July with the last of the tar being removed from the lagoons. The final stage of the remediation process in these areas is to use bioremediation to treat the soil. During the tar removal activity we have unearthed some additional contaminated material. This material will be treated in a similar way to the tar, and we hope to complete this process by the end of this year.
The local planning department granted planning consent to allow us to excavate the historic culvert and the soil was removed for treatment in July. We greatly appreciate the patience of the residents and park users for the disruption caused while this was completed. The culvert area will now be re-graded and seeded.
The importation of subsoil is nearing completion and we anticipate this will be complete by the end of September.
